Ed Schuller: Mu-Point (1993)

Ed Schuller played on some of my favorite Motian recordings in the mid 1980's, and is always a wicked foil for the drummer's spacious, hovering conception of time. Bickford, the guitarist, owed a big debt to John McLaughlin at the time, which is neither a good nor a bad thing (the Live/Evil stuff on "Quasar" is lots of fun). And Dewey Redman is wonderful, as ever.
