Roswell Rudd: Flexible Flyer

There is no other musician in the world cut from the same cloth as Roswell Rudd. This very sweet record, with Rudd's trombone dovetailing beautifully with Sheila Jordan's voice and an exhilarating rhythm section, was issued first on Arista Freedom in the mid-1970s, the same fertile period that produced Rudd's Numatik Swing Band. Hod O'Brien's "Waltzing in the Sagebrush" ought to be a standard by now.
Rudd's no spring chicken anymore, but is still a working musician, which means if you like this and see his name on other recordings (and there are lots of them), you should be sure to buy them.

Roswell Rudd: trb, Fr horn
Sheila Jordan: voc
Hod O'Brien: p
Arild Anderson: b
Barry Altschul: dr
